Quiver Tree Forest

This is the Quiver Tree Forest just outside Nieuwoudtville on the Bokkeveld Plateau. It is a place where the experience of silence, space and stars contribute to a tranquil way of life. In spring this beautiful barren landscape gives birth to masses of wildflowers. The quiver trees are also known for looking upside down because the leaves look somewhat similar to roots. This tree has a long history of beliefs that it will bring good luck to anybody that worships a tree and nurtures it. It is in my opinion one of the most beautiful trees.
