Into the Woods

Into the Woods explores Cape Town’s forests through layered colour and expressive brushwork, capturing nature as an emotional experience of mystery, growth, decay and renewal.

At the Coast

I think of myself as a thalassophile. I live by the sea where the treads of light on the water bind the sky, ocean and me together as an artist. There is also something magical in coastal vegetation.

Ikhamangas

The ‘Ikhamanga’ series is a completed body of large-format paintings. Indigenous to South Africa they are deeply associated with summer holidays, warmth and the coast for me.

Figures and Faces

I love faces and bodies. Biology was one of my favourite subjects. Although I’m an introvert, like most artists, I like people and I am very interested in how people wear themselves on their skin.

Still Life and Blooms

Who doesn’t like flowers? I prefer them attached to their mothership firmly planted in the ground but sometimes also just slowly blooming in a flower pot.
