These kannas are from a garden in Paul Roux Street in Bloemfontein. When I was a child living in the Free State everybody had beautiful gardens on their pavements but these days they hide inside the perimeters of the fences. Kannas are not true lilies and are originally tropical plants but they seem to grow very well here. I saw these when I was having a very dismall day but they did make me stop and look and feel better. It was the first time I really saw and liked them. They are a visual blast from the past.
